SUMMARY:Nordisk Ungdomscamp i Sverige
DESCRIPTION:Invitation for Nordic camp in Sweden 2026 \n  \nYouth with visual impairment Sweden invites you to take part in Nordic camp 2026. This year Nordic camp is arranged by our local district in Stockholm and Gotland. And for that very reason\, Nordic camp will take place on the beautiful island of Gotland. \n  \nWe welcome nordic guests from our sister organisations in Norway\, Denmark\, Finland\, and Iceland. And of course\, our own guests from within Sweden. The dates for Nordic camp this year is the 21st to the 28th of June 2026. \n  \nBasic info \nWhat? Summer camp for young people with visual impairment from all Nordic countries \nWhere? The island of Gotland in Sweden \nWhen? Sunday the 21st to Sunday the 28th of June 2026 \nParticipation fee? 2500 dkr. \nLast day to sign up? Monday the 23rd of March \n  \n  \nWhy should you sign up for Nordic camp? \nThis is the major event of the year for us. We are very happy to invite guests from our Nordic sister organisations and honoured to have been given this opportunity. \n  \nNordic camp is the perfect opportunity for those who are interested in meeting other young people with visual impairment\, getting friends from other Nordic countries\, and learning more about the other organisations and what they do. There will be a perfect mix of both fun\, summery activities\, and more serious conversations about what it’s like in our respective countries\, how our organisations work to better the lives of other young people with visual impairment\, and how our organisations work to engage new young people. \n  \nExamples of fun activities you’ll be able to choose from include visiting a water park\, pony riding\, visiting a Viking village\, having a shopping day in the city of Visby\, swimming by the beach\, and more. \n  \nThe accommodation \nWe’ll be staying at Slite Strand resort in cabins with 6 people in each cabin. The resort is about 30 minutes by car from the city of Visby\, which is the main city on the island of Gotland. The resort is near a beach by the ocean\, so hopefully we’ll have good enough weather to swim in. \n  \nAt the resort there’s a restaurant where we will have both breakfast\, lunch and dinner each day. Apart from the meals we’ll have while out and about doing various activities. We will also have access to a conference room where we will be having social activities as well as some traditional Swedish fika. Bed linens and cleaning on the final day is included in our accommodation. \n  \nTravel to camp \nYou will all travel by flight from your respective countries to Arlanda airport in Stockholm. From there we will all travel by rented bus to pick up the Swedish participants from Stockholm central station. Then over to the harbour to travel by boat over to Gotland. Once on the island\, another rented bus will pick us up at the harbour to take us to the resort \n  \nDuring camp \nTo get between the resort and our activities during camp\, we will all travel by rented bus. A detailed schedule will be sent later once all participants are confirmed. We have planned to have bigger activities from Monday to Friday during camp\, and to have the saturday as a last day with calmer activities at the resort\, but with a disco in the evening\, and a chance to perform at an open stage. \n  \nOn the final Sunday\, the 28th of June\, we will have time to evaluate and give feedback on the camp both together as a group\, and in written form. Since we have received funding from Erasmus plus for this\, it’s obligatory that all participants fill in a written evaluation on the final day. This means that all participants need to bring a device (phone\, iPad\, or other device) with access to their email account. \n  \nTravel home \nThe Swedish delegation will travel from Gotland over to mainland Sweden by boat on the final day. From there\, they will travel by rented bus to Stockholm central station\, and then by train to their respective cities. \n  \nWe will make sure that all our Nordic guests get appropriate travel home to your respective capital cities. Whether that will be by flight directly from Gotland\, or whether you will travel along with the Swedish delegation to Stockholm\, and then further from there\, will depend on flight times. \n  \nNumber of participants and other people involved \n\n5 participants with visual impairment from each organisation in Finland\, Norway\, Denmark\, and Iceland. Plus one sighted guide for each organisation\n10 participants with visual impairment from our local district in Stockholm and Gotland\n10 participants from all around Sweden\n10 sighted guides from Sweden\n2 staff members\n\nIn total this means 56 people. 40 of which are participants and the rest being sighted guides or staff. Half of the participants are from Sweden and the other half from other Nordic countries. \n  \nOur staff members on site are: \n\nRakel Eriksson\, who is herself visually impaired and will mainly be responsible for all the Swedish participants\nUni Jennersjö who is sighted and will mainly be responsible for the participants from other Nordic countries.\n\n
